Grandma Sebahat is the protagonist of this story, which is based on true events. She brought a fig tree sappling from her village years ago
and planted it in the garden of their apartment. One day the tree is cut down by some men. So Sebahat starts a counter battle by carrying the cut down tree five floors upstairs to her home. She has to save her identity and her roots while struggling with old age and Parkinson disease. The roots of the tree are her bond with life.
