SYNOPSIS
After 30 years, Ömer, is mysteriously summoned back to the eastern Turkish village of his youth, Ağrı, which lies at the foot of the sacred Mount Ağrı, near the border of Iran. Ömer is there to bury a man who banished him in his youth without explanation. A man he never expected to hear from again and never in his wildest dreams suspected of being his father. His newfound father’s dying wish is that his two sons, both the legitimate & illegitimate, together carry him and bury him on a forbidden snow-covered peak that looms large above the town. The approaching tempestuous snow blizzard cannot stop the intergenerational secrets, trauma, and hierarchical politics from breaking the surface impacting dramatically all those involved. Ömer finds himself inheriting a newfound, forgotten family, traditions he has long let go and a culture somehow out of reach. He is forced to reassess his past, to discover who he really is, to see what the future may look like.
