Submissions for 12 Punto TRT Script Days Are Open Now!

Submissions for “12 Punto TRT Script Days”, which will be organized for the third time this year by TRT, started today. For anyone interested in the cinema, Turkey’s biggest script development and co-production platform’s event submissions can be made from www.trt12punto.com address until February 12, 2021.

Submissions started for “12 Punto TRT Script Days 2021”, the first and only project of its kind made for the cinema industry in Turkey, The event, which will be held for the third time by TRT, will bring together the leading names of world and Turkish cinema this year.

Feature and short film projects will be accepted.

Feature and short film project submissions to the “12 Punto TRT Script Days” can be made between January 12 and February 12, 2021. Submissions will only be made through the submission form on www.trt12punto.com.

Among the 12 finalists selected by the international jury in the feature film category, 4 projects will be awarded TRT Co-Production Award, and 4 projects will be awarded TRT Pre-Buy Award.

Among the short film project applications, 12 projects will be awarded TRT 2 Short Film Production Awards. With the completion of the shootings, the films will broadcast on TRT 2. 12 feature films and 12 short films selected as a result of the evaluation of the pre-jury members will be announced on April 12.

International co-productions, in which Turkish producers have small shares, will also be able to apply to the event until February 12, 2021. With the “TRT International Co-Production Award”, which was given for the first time last year, it will also contribute to the increase in the recognition of Turkish cinema in the international arena.

This year’s “Special TRT Co-Production Award” was given to director Semih Kaplanoğlu.

Within the scope of the event, this year’s winner of the “Special TRT Co-Production Award”, which is given to a master of Turkish cinema every year, was Semih Kaplanoğlu’s new film project “Bağlılık Fikret”. “Bağlılık Fikret” It tells the story of a theater director in his 40s who want to import Ahmet Hamdi Tanpınar’s “A Mind at Peace” novel, by travelling between the 1930s and the present day Turkey.

Nuri Bilge Ceylan won the “Special TRT Co-Production Award”, which was given for the first time last year, with his latest project “On Barren Weeds”.

Nearly 600 feature and short project applications were made last year.

Among the international jury members of the event held in 2020 were President of the European Film Academy, General Manager of Cannes Cinefondation, CEO of Doha Film Institute, Director of Films Boutique and President of Sarajevo Film Festival Industry. The president of the international jury of 12 Punto, which was held for the first time in 2019, was Oscar President John Bailey. Despite the pandemic conditions, nearly 600 feature and short film project submissions were made to the event in 2020, which was also held with the participation of international brands.
