TRT Co-production “Triangle of Sadness” Premiered at the 75th Cannes Film Festival

TRT co-production “Triangle of Sadness”, by the Palme d’Or Award-winning director Ruben Östlund, had its world premiere in the main competition section of the 75th Cannes Film Festival.

“Triangle of Sadness”, a TRT co-production film by Swedish director Ruben Östlund, awarded the Palme d’Or, had its world premiere in the main competition section of the Cannes Film Festival. After the gala screening, in which TRT Deputy General Manager Ziyad Varol also attended, the film received standing ovation by the audience for several minutes. Awards at the festival, which is one of the most prestigious events in the film industry, will find their owners on Saturday, May 28.

The new film of Ruben Östlund, one of the most important directors of today who was awarded the Palme d’Or, had its world premiere in the main competition section of the 75th Cannes Film Festival. Ruben Östlund continues his perspective he had in the films “Tourist” and “Kare”, in which he achieved international success, in the film “Triangle of Sadness” as well. As in his previous films, Östlund satirizes human nature in this film, and builds the black comedy world in the film on the absurd situations of the upper middle class and upper classes.

Co-production of Turkey, Sweden, France, USA, England, Switzerland and Greece, “Triangle of Sadness” tells the story of young modeling couple Carl and Yaya on a super luxury cruise with billionaire passengers. After a storm, Carl and Yaya are stranded on a desert island with a group of billionaires and one of the ship’s cleaners. “Triangle of Sadness” is a satirical film where the hierarchy is suddenly turned upside down and roles and classes are reversed.
